Regional policy devolution - challenge for the Slovakia-East region
During the seminar different existing models of the EU Structural funds management devolution on the regional (NUTS II) level were presented in order to propose and prepare the most convenient model for Slovakia (with the emphasis on "lagging behind region" - Slovakia East).
Main points involved in the presentations:
- description of current model of the EU funds management in a given country
- highlighted impacts (benefits and challenges) of the devolution on the development of the region
- institutional, personal and financial arrangement and requirements on the regional level
- what was needed for and how long it took to be prepared for transfer of responsibilities from central on the regional level
- lessons learned from the process up to now
